Local government and its role in driving economic growth and securing investment has never been more important. We have a clear vision to deliver this in establishing the area as Northern Ireland's CleanTech hub .
We play a key role in major investment initiatives like the Belfast Region City Deal, which is set to bring up to £1 billion in investment, create approximately 20,000 jobs, and enhance prosperity throughout the region. As part of this effort, Mid and East Antrim has secured £80 million in funding to drive economic development and growth in our area.
Furthermore, work is underway in the transformation of the 15 hectare (37 acre) Saint Patrick’s Barracks site situated in Ballymena, which upon completion will deliver some £160m+ of investment. The mixed use site will comprise of housing and leisure facilities, the new Northern Regional College campus and new i4C innovation and Cleantech Centre.
