APSE winners

Mid & East Antrim Borough Council are delighted to announce their win for the ‘Best Public/Private Partnership Working Initiative’ category at the APSE Service Awards 2023.

The APSE Service Awards 2023 were held at the Titanic, Belfast, and recognise the contribution of local government frontline services, highlight the very best in public services and share best practice with all.

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council were recognised for partnership working through the Hydrogen Training Academy.

The Hydrogen Training Academy (NTA) is a first-of-its-kind skills development project, led by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in collaboration with academia and industry partners. The project supports development of the hydrogen economy and aligns with government’s Net Zero ambitions by delivering essential hydrogen training for industries utilising bespoke practical training labs. The HTA helps cement NI as a leader in the green energy sector through the development of new skills to meet industry and market demand.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Gerardine Mulvenna, attended the awards ceremony and said: “It’s fantastic to see the Council recognised at a national level by APSE.  These Awards recognise the incredible work and success of our Council services and I’d like to congratulate everyone involved in the initiative for their well-deserved win.”
